Minds like ours need minds like ours

Transcendent
We're hypnotized by minds characterized as
Ascendent,
Resplendent
But minds like yours and minds like mine
are something more than holy shrines
You see the brains that hold them are funny
In the brains
Your transcendent mind, my transcendent mind
can lead other minds to what we all must find
But your funny brain and my funny brain
can cause pain
Like anyone elses
The Angel of Dark and the Angel of Light
can both lead us to some wrong and right
And we can't help it
But it can help us
If I could take away our funny brains
and make us pure and good and plain
more agreeable
more hospitable
our thoughts transmittable
I wouldn't do it
We'd be passive
We'd be unjudicious
We'd be fictitious
It's like the gods are living in broken houses
Like our sober souls have drunken spouses
Known as brains
And we must love them
Both our own
And each other's
